Email from Dean Hinkson to all Graduating Seniors!

Dear Graduating Seniors,

Please read this complete email as it provides important information on a number of topics...

Barnard Commencement tickets - Each graduating senior will be eligible to receive 7 tickets. If you do not have need of all 7 tickets, please let me know.

Extra Barnard Commencement tickets - There will be extremely limited availability of extra tickets, towards that end, I will send you a request form the week of April 17th.  This will allow you to request extra tickets and I will aim to get back to you with a decision the following week. Please do not assume you will get extra tickets until you receive a confirmation message from me.

Commencement Rehearsal -  Please block your calendars now for mandatory commencement rehearsal on Monday, May 15th from 11-3. You will receive your Barnard Commencement tickets at rehearsal.

Barnard B&B - for those of you who have relatives who will be coming from out of town to attend commencement, you will find information about campus housing for them at: https://www.regonline.com/builder/site/?eventid=1961075.

Moving out of campus housing - Please note that all graduating seniors will need to move out of campus housing by noon on Thursday the 18th of May.

Barnard Caps & Gowns - Barnard provides caps and gowns to our graduates, so please do not purchase them. They will be yours to keep.

Looking forward to celebrating your graduation with you,

Dean Hinkson

Seniors!
This Thursday, March 23, 2017
LAST DAY
to
Pass/D/Fail
a Course for Spring, 2017

Click HERE for more details regarding the P/D/F Option

Your instructor will not be informed of your decision to Pass/D/Fail. Your instructor will assign you a letter grade, which will be converted to P/D/F.
  • A letter grade of A+ through C- will appear on your transcript as a P.
  • A letter grade of D will appear on your transcript as a D.
  • A letter grade of F will appear on your transcript as an F.
While a grade of P is not included in your grade point average, grades of F and D are included.

Restrictions for Pass/D/Fail

You may not elect the Pass/D/Fail option for:
  • First Year Writing or First Year Seminar.
  • classes going toward your minor (if any).
  • classes in your major field.
You may elect the P/D/F option for a class in your major field ONLY:
  • if it will NOT be used to fulfill a major requirement; and
  • if it exceeds the number of points required for the major; and
  • with the specific approval of the Department Chair.
